Company Profile:
Grupo de Transductores Químicos (GTQ) is a research group belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and is located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona). GTQ develops and markets (bio)chemical microsensors (chip) fabricated with microelectronic technology, and analytical systems based on these microsensors.

The GTQ's main objective is to deal with analytical problems in the industry. So GTQ activity (research, development, fabrication and sale of chemical microsensors) is focused on technology transfer to industry, and it is oriented to the requirements of different industrial sectors such as food and beverage industry.

What we offer:
The chemical (bio)microsensors (chip) and analytical systems developed by GTQ have several advantages over the existing analytical techniques: reduced size (micron, mm), low cost, real-time results, portability, in-field measurement, pre-treatment is not required, capability of continuous measurement in production processes,…

These microsensors and analytical systems have the following applications in the food and beverage industry:
- Quality control of raw materials, intermediate products, and final product.
- In-field measurements and continuous measurements in production and cleaning processes.
- Troubleshooting analytical control.

The parameters that microsensors and analytical systems are able to measure, depending on their condition of maturity, are:
- Industrialization: ORP, pH, ionic conductivity, ions, temperature, dissolved oxygen, volatile acidity, glycerol, color intensity.
- Development: Real-time detection of microorganisms (for example E.Coli), alcohol, COD, heavy metals, pesticides.

What we are looking for:
GTQ is interested in the development of new applications in the control systems of the food and beverage industry (new instrumentation, prototypes, and analytical equipment // laboratory, online or in-field measurements). So now GTQ is looking for instrumentation companies, engineering companies, manufacturers of production lines, or possible end users (food and beverage industry) interested in:
- Using (bio)chemical microsensors (chip)
- Development of new analytical instrumentation
- Development of R+D+i projects
- European, national and regional projects.

MULTISENSE. MULTISENSOR SYSTEM (ELECTRONIC TONGUE) FOR QUALITY CONTROL IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY.

What we offer:
Nowadays, ensuring reproducibility of the quality of products is an essential goal in the food and beverage industry. Multisense is a great tool for this purpose.

Multisense is an analytical system based on an array of (bio)chemical microsensors (chip) with different cross-selectivity and has application in the study of liquid and semisolid products (wine, milk, broths, sauces, juices, yogurt, ice cream, beer, cheese, soda, water, ...).

The use of Multisense allows:
1.- Quantification of different physical and chemical parameters: ORP, pH, ionic conductivity, ions, temperature, dissolved oxygen, volatile acidity, glycerol, colour intensity.
2.- Providing necessary conclusions with great value for quality control in food industry. Examples:
- Information obtained by sensory panels (organoleptic characteristics).
- Evaluation of the useful life of the products.
- Development of new products.
- Check the raw materials (identification, variability of their characteristics, detection of fraud).
- Confirmation by continuous measurement of proper production of intermediates and final product.

The system is portable, provides results in real time, and is capable of continuous measurement during production processes.

What we are looking for:
Multisense has been validated in the food industry (pre-cooked broth, wine and mineral water):
- Classification of broth according to their taste, brand, or date of production batch.
- Classification of wines according to grape variety, vintage year, or origin.
- Classification of mineral water brands.

Presently GTQ is looking for instrumentation companies, engineering companies, manufacturers of production lines, or possible end users (food and beverage industry) interested in participating in the development of Multisense to create a commercial product.
