TECNOVA is located in Almería (Spain). This area represents the highest concentration in European acreage on greenhouse crops, with approximately 27,000 ha. Greenhouse structures are of great importance in supporting industry of agriculture due to increases in profitability that enables the incorporation of technology in farming techniques. Our clients include all the companies around the Auxiliary Industry of Agriculture, with local, regional, national and international partners.
TECNOVA has been actively involved in many Spanish and international projects funded by european, national or local government. Our experience in 7 Framework Programa has been gained trough the Collaborative Project , Call: FP7-KBBE-2011-5
Activity 2.1: Sustainable production and management of biological resources from land, forest and aquatic environments.
The reserch team of Tecnova has a large experience in Agrofood field. The staff and facilities of Tecnova carry out the optimization of packaging by:
Determination of shelf-life of packaging product
Determination of Atmosphere Packaging (modified atmosphere)
New technologies to preserve quality
We also dispose the technology of Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR). This technology can be applied over any ready to eat product. Thanks to this technique this kind of products could be analyzed in real time and non-destructive manner, resulting in:
Traceability improving of agro-food products.
Characterization of food attributes.
Real-time quality control in the production.
Another particular characteristic of NIR, it is environmentally by not requiring chemical agents for control quality.
On the other hand this technology can improve the subsequent process of packaging as well as the marketing. Using NIR to control quality is possible to ensure for consumers high and uniform quality of fruit and vegetables.
Therefore, it increases the added value of horticultural products by using new postharvest treatments and improved packaging.
