Reference Network on Food Technology (XaRTA): A benchmark of quality research applicable to Nutrition, Food Safety, Sensory Quality and Sustainability.
XaRTA is a Reference Network of Catalonian Government created in 1995, who coordinate 350 Researchers of 26 Research Groups of Excellence from 5 different universities (UAB, UB, UdG, UdL and URV) and 2 Research Centers (IRTA and UdL-IRTA).
The Network is present throughout Catalonia, and has very competitive equipments for different agrifood sectors: meat, dairy, fish, water & soft drinks, alcoholic beverages (wines and cava), fruits and vegetables, oils and fats, bakery, ready-to-use foods, functional foods and nutraceutics, additives and food complements, feed and vegetal and meat production (9 semi-industrial pilot plants: 7.000 m2).
XaRTA promotes the synergistic and multidisciplinarity offer and its experience on R&D&i collaborative projects at a national and international level.
